A little Greater Bilby joey has joined the Nocturnal House family at Adelaide Zoo – now we need your help to give him a fur-tastic name!
Born to six-year-old Tinka, the three-month-old has just started to explore outside of mum’s pouch and can often be seen hopping around his habitat.
The little one is quite shy, taking after his dad, Rocky, but he getting more adventurous each day and trying new foods including mealworms and dog kibble.
The birth of a bilby is always exciting as their species’ numbers are declining with less than 9,000 remaining in the wild. Cats and foxes have had a huge impact on the species, which has disappeared from over 80 per cent of its former range.
Keepers have chosen four names for you to choose from; Ninu, Pila, Kabu and Ruta. Pick your favourite for a chance to win a Giraffe Feed for two at Adelaide Zoo, entry included.
