City Bees

Adelaide Zoo is the proud home of a rabble of bees as part of the Adelaide Bee Sanctuary network, run by an organisation of the same name.

Bees are a vital link the food chain, pollinating plants and ensuring crops for the future. Honey from the zoo hives is used by zoo caterers and also as treats and enrichment for the animals of the zoo.

The hives are not located in a public area but we encourage all visitors to explore the gardens of the zoo which benefit from bees.
