Zoo la la! Zoos SA bares all for Zoo conservation calendar

Zoo’s conservation calendar: It’s time for Fire Fighters, Farmers, and Nuns Having Fun to move over. For the first time ever, Zoos SA’s team has ‘tastefully disrobed’ for a calendar in a bid to raise funds and to draw attention to the conservation programs that they work on behind the scenes.

Calendar “Conservation Uncovered– 365 days of ‘behinds’ behind the scenes” is on pre-order from today as part of a range of Black and White Friday offers.

“I never thought I’d see the day,” joked Elaine Bensted, CE of Zoos SA “but here we are. As a conservation charity we are always thinking of new ways to engage with audiences while educating them about the work that we carry out.”

“Zoos SA supports 13 conservation priorities in Australia and another 12 internationally. From reintroducing the Brush-tailed Bettong into Marna Banggarra in the Yorke Peninsula, and the breeding and releasing of the rare and critically endangered Orange-bellied Parrot to supporting the control of the illegal animal trade and equipping the SAN Parks Honorary Rangers with vital communications equipment to help in their efforts to prevent the poaching of rhinos – we work across a range of animal conservation projects to make a difference to the survival of species.

“While our work ‘front of house’ allows members and visitors to see and learn about species on a daily basis, there’s a whole lot more that we do behind the scenes.

“Conservation Uncovered – 365 days of ‘behinds’ behind the scenes –  features species from both sites, members of our keeping teams, vet staff, tour guides, browse coordinator, and Events Manager and talks about the conservation projects we are involved with.

“The Conservation Uncovered calendar will make a great Christmas present. As well as the calendar, we are also launching our Black and White Friday deals. Get your shopping out of the way, save some money on memberships and in our shops and, while doing so help fund our conservation work,” finished Elaine.

Conservation Uncovered was photographed by Claudio Raschella at Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park.
