Adelaide Zoo’s animals rip into presents to celebrate the start of the Christmas season and release of Christmas Gift Guide

It’s the first day of the silly season and some very special Adelaide Zoo animals tucked into delicious enrichment to celebrate the arrival of Zoos SA’s 2020 Christmas Gift Guide.

African Lions Amani and Mujambi along with Ring-tailed Lemurs Ejeda, Benoky and Belo delighted visitors by unwrapping a host of Christmas goodies filled with delicious treats and stimulating enrichment.

Amani and Mujambi were spoiled with boxes covered in smelly perfume while our lemurs preferred the chopped veggies inside their holiday-themed presents.

The cause for all the excitement? Zoos SA’s 2020 Christmas Gift Guide is here!

Zoos SA’s Chief Executive Elaine Bensted says it’s easy to spread joy this Christmas by making a purchase from Adelaide Zoo or Monarto Safari Park.

“This week we launched our Christmas gift guide, which is filled with great ideas for your loved ones, young and old, animal-lover or not,” says Elaine.

“What people might not realise is every time they purchase a product or experience from us, it not only provides a special someone with a fabulous gift but supports the conservation of wildlife both in Australia and around the world.

“We have a huge range of experiences, products and gifts, from fun stocking fillers to once-in-a-lifetime experiences, so there really is something for everyone.

“And a present from Zoos SA really is a gift in more ways than one, with funds from every purchase contributing to crucial breeding programs that have seen endangered animals such as the Greater Bilby, Przewalski’s Horse and Orange-bellied Parrot released back into the wild.”

For those looking for a gift that keeps on giving, Zoos SA Annual Memberships provide both children and adults with unlimited visits to Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park, as well as discounts at our shops and cafes and free entry to most major zoos around the country.

And let’s not forget about Zoos SA’s newest offering – Sh*t Gift Certificates. These quirky cards are a perfect joke present or stocking stuffer that also helps to support Zoos SA’s conservation work.

Gifts can be purchased in person at both Zoo Shops or online at www.zoossa.com.au/shop/.

All online orders from the Zoo Shop must be made by Monday, December 7 to catch the last post before Christmas.

For those wanting to visit Adelaide Zoo or Monarto Safari Park this holiday season, it’s recommended tickets be bought online in advance via the their websites.
