It’s a double naming bonanza!
We have welcomed the pitter patter of baby animals across the zoo, and now we need your help choosing the perfect names!
The Black-and-white Colobus group have grown by two, with Adale giving birth to an infant in March (sex to be determined) and Zamba giving birth to a little male in November last year. Over in the Cotton-top Tamarin troop, mum Peppa also gave birth to twins!
Black-and-white Colobus and Cotton-top Tamarin populations are under threat, making these healthy little ones all the more special. Each birth is a positive step forward in the conservation of these species and Zoos SA is proud to play a major role in regional breeding programs. By visiting, you’re supporting this vital work!
Our keepers have carefully selected a handful of names connecting our latest arrivals to their native habitats, with Swahili names for the Black-and-white Colobus native to Africa and South American inspired names for the Cotton-top Tamarin twins.
Pick your favourite names from the lists below and be in for the chance to win a Tiger and Friends experience for two, plus entry to Adelaide Zoo*!
Competition ends 28 April 2024
