Have you ever wondered how to connect students, collect multimodal data, and provide enriching STEAM experiences during a visit to the Zoo? We invite you to explore Adelaide Zoo as an environment for STEAM learning and to support you in crafting an authentic continuum of learning, bridging the school classroom with the vibrant zoo environment. In this one-day PD, teachers will engage in four hands-on sessions led by specialist educators. Participants will receive a resource guide, morning tea, and complimentary zoo materials to support future visits.
The Zoo STEAM Teach project has been successfully taught in South Australia for the past four years and it is proven to be valuable for inspiring teachers to select and create resources and experiences to engage children’s STEAM education centred on the Zoo’s key messages. The workshop contributes to the growing field of situated learning for STEAM education by continuing to highlight ways the zoo environment can be used to enrich STEAM education in Australia.
