Ghouls, goblins and ghosts, get ready for a night of frightfully fun entertainment the whole family will enjoy at Boo at the Zoo!

Dress in your wicked best, grab your treat bag and set off along the Trick-or-Treat Trail, collecting goodies from local vendors along the way!

While you’re there, snap a photo among the spooky scenes and get swept up in a night of hauntingly good fun you won’t find anywhere else!

Get dressed in your spooky best to take some faboolous family snaps amongst all the decorations.

Treat stations

On arrival, you’ll receive a Treat Bag (yes, even mum and dad!). Visit the treat stations around the site to fill it with tasty goodies – no tricks here!

Relaxed Boo at the Zoo

Friday 30 October 2026 3:00pm-4:00pm

A quieter and calmer experience for anyone who would benefit from a low-sensory environment.

These tickets are prioritised for those with sensory needs, with just as many delicious treats! The relaxed session includes an earlier start time, reduced capacity, lowered volume on installations and reduced human noises.

Visitors attending the Relaxed session are welcome to stay and explore for the evening but should be aware that the gates will open to other guests at full capacity from 4pm.

Costume Guidelines

We can’t wait to see all the spooky and creative costumes you come up with! To help us make the evening safe and enjoyable for everyone, including the animals, please follow these guidelines:

  • Costumes should not be taller or wider than the average person. For example, inflatable costumes and oversized props.

  • This is a family-friendly event, so please make sure your costume is appropriate for all ages.

  • Items such as balls, balloons, selfie sticks, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades or similar equipment are not permitted on site.

Important information

  • Adelaide Zoo will close at 2:30pm on Friday 30 October so we can transform the zoo ready for the fun. Gates will reopen at 3pm to Boo at the Zoo ticket holders.
  • Children under the age of 4 must have a free cub reservation purchased for them.
  • Interstate reciprocal zoo members and Zoos SA Life Member transferrable passes cannot be used for Boo at the Zoo member discounts.

  • Please note, as we set up for Boo at the Zoo, some Halloween decorations will be visible around the zoo from Wed 28 to Mon 2 November, if you are sensitive to this content we apologise for any inconvenience and hope you are able to visit us on a different date.

Parking

Limited ticket parking will be available on Plane Tree Drive. Parking is controlled by Botanic Gardens of South Australia. We recommend using public transport or reviewing parking access and pricing through the Botanic Gardens website here and directing any questions to botanicgardens@sa.gov.au. Wilson Parking offer affordable and secure parking at Lot Fourteen Car Park, located off Frome Road, Adelaide.
