Services and Facilities
The Visitor Centre
The Visitors Centre is an award winning environmentally friendly air-conditioned centre containing a bistro, gift shop and toilet facilities. Contained with the centre is a Bilby exhibit, exhibition space and touch table for children.
Safari Tours
For those of you who prefer a more relaxed view, we recommend a seat on our Safari Bus Tours. This will take you past a world of environments including the Asian Steppes and Grasslands, the African Plains and Northern Africa.

Gift Shop and Cafe
You will find the Cafe-Bistro within the Visitors Centre for a meal, quick snack or a hot drink.
For larger groups requiring prepared meals we suggest contacting us to pre-book the Cafe-Bistro or the Pavillion to avoid disappointment.
Picnics
For those who prefer to bring their own meals, close by are sheltered picnic areas are available close by. Please note due to fire risk the Zoo does not have BBQ facilities and does not allow visitors to bring their own BBQ equipment. There are plans to introduce safe electric BBQs in the future.
Walking Trails
For those visitors keen to explore by foot, there are four walking tracks that will take you past some of the highlights of the Zoo.
There are four walks ranging from 30 to 90 minutes in duration.
Emu Track
The Emu Track is a self-guided 20-30 minute walk past a variety of birdlife and native flora. Easy grading.
Mallee Fowl Track
The Mallee Fowl Track is a self-guided tour of approximately 90 minutes to a habitat where you can see these unique birds in a native setting. Easy grading.
Ridge Track (Currently unavailable due to chimpanzee habitat construction)
If the real Africa is too far to go, then our Ridge Track will more than satisfy your desire to see Giraffe, Zebra or Eland in a beautifully simulated environment. This track includes lookouts that provide an overall view of the Zoo and its surrounds. Moderate grading.
Boma Track
The Boma Track is a self guided walk of approx 25 minutes leading to the Rhino enclosure. Moderate grading
Vehicles in the Zoo
Once inside the entrance you share the short journey to the Visitor Centre with roaming wildlife, so please remember the speed limit is 30km per hour. You may not drive your own car around the Zoo, parking is available at the Visitor Centre. Please take care on the roads driving to Monarto Zoo.
