You can help the community, livestock and wildlife of Northern Kenya live together in harmony by purchasing beautiful beaded decorations and jewellery, which are available at our Zoo Shops.

Kenya is home to the critically endangered Black Rhino. There are less than 5000 remaining in the wild, largely due to poaching.

The Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT) is a community-led initiative whose members are predominantly dependent on a livestock-based livelihood system. Beadwork supports Kenyan families who then rely less on livestock, meaning there are more resources for local wildlife.

NRT Trading, the business and enterprise branch of the Northern Rangeland Trust, also trains women in business skills and product development as well as providing adult literacy classes and health services. All products are developed under UN Fair Trade practices.
