Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Zoo between them, care for approximately 3,000 animals. Many of these animals are listed as critically endangered, endangered, threatened or vulnerable. To support their conservation and breeding programs, we desperately need supporters to ensure we keep providing the best possible care for our wildlife through the Future Zoo Foundation.

Animal adoption is essentially 'adopting' your favourite animal from Adelaide or Monarto Zoo. Any animal from both properties can be adopted. Your donation goes toward the keeping, protecting and in some cases, providing breeding programs for the animals. Some of the expenses we need to cover are feed costs, vet bills, education, maintenance, animal rehabilitaion programs and developing better environments for our diverse wildlife.
All animal adoption payments are 100% tax deductible.

Everyone! Animal adoption makes a brilliant gift for birthdays, Christmas, corporate clients, friends, Christenings, thankyou gifts or just for someone who has everything... except an adopted African Lion!

You can adopt an animal at either Adelaide or Monarto Zoo. (regardless of it has already been adopted by someone else) Some animals worth considering may be the African Lion, Rhinoceros, Meerkat, Anaconda, Rattlesnake, Hoffman's Sloth, Flamingo, Otter, Giraffe, Persian Leopard, Sumatran Tiger, Siamang, Sumatran Orangutan, White Cheek Gibbon, Pelican, Koala, Dwarf Mongoose, Inland Taipan, Yellow-Footed Rock Wallaby, Cheetah, Przewalski's Horse, Alligator, Little Penguin, Parrot, Beaver, Chimpanzee the list goes on and on.
