Entry Fees and Bus information

Important Bus Information

Education groups of more than 15 must come in their own bus to receive the discounted Education prices and free adult ratios.

Smaller groups are also encouraged to come in their own bus.

For groups of 15 or less students who do not come in their own bus, a Bus Charge of $5 per student and paying adult will be added to the entry prices. This is because the bus hire is a major expense to Monarto Zoo.

Please notify the Tour Desk on booking if your bus does not have a microphone that the Volunteer Guide can use.

Education Prices for groups (when booked at least four weeks prior to visit)

Day visits – self guided with your bus

· Students: $7

· Adult supervisors above free ratio: $16

· Bus Driver: no charge

Day visits – Education Officer support - with your bus

· Students: $10

· Adult supervisors above free ratio: $16

· Bus Driver: no charge

Planetkeeper - Day Program - with your bus

· Students: $12

· Adult supervisors above free ratio: $16

· Bus Driver: no charge

Service - with your bus

· Students: $3

$10 with Safari Bus Tour

· Adult supervisors above free ratio: $16

· Bus Driver: no charge

Monarto Nights

· Students: $30

· Bus Driver: no charge

· Swags available for hire: $10 each

Adult supervisor numbers are strictly limited to the number recommended by Department of Education and Children's Services' (DECS) Excursion policy and are free of charge: ie.

· JP (R-Yr 2) 1 adult per 5 children

· Primary (Yr 3-7) 1 adult per 10 children

· Secondary 1 adult per 15 children

· Tertiary 1 adult

Planetkeeper Overnight program

· Students: $35

· Bus Driver: no charge

· Swags available for hire: $10 each

· Primary (Yr 3-7) 1 adult per 10 children

Free Adult to Student ratios

When Education groups use their own bus, Monarto Zoo allows free entry to adult supervisors in the ratios recommended by the DECS Excursion Policy.

These ratios are:

· Junior Primary (R-Yr 2) 1 adult per 5 children

· Primary (Yr 3-7) 1 adult per 10 children

· Secondary 1 adult per 15 children

· Tertiary 1 adult

Bus drivers are admitted to the Zoo free of charge.
