Brief Animal Encounters
A fantastic opportunity to learn more about these animals from the Keepers, get up close and personal, and even an opportunity to feed the animals!
Brief Animal Encounters run for approximate 15 minutes and cost $30 pp.
Limited places are on offer each day, so check availability with the Information Desk on arrival at the Zoo.
Availability may change subject to animal management considerations. Particpants are required to wear enclosed shoes.
Giraffe Encounter
Experience a special encounter with Adelaide Zoo Giraffes. Meet the Keeper and experience our majestic Giraffes at close proximity and an opportunity to feed them.
Giant Tortoise Encounter
Join the Keeper and enter the exhibit to meet the incredible Giant Tortoise, feel their ancient looking shell, learn all about the species and even provide them with their daily feed.
Lemur Encounter
Experience the Lemurs up close and personal when you enter their exhibit with the Keeper. Witness their antics as you feed these amazing animals and have your photo taken as a souvenir of the experience.
Squirrel Monkey Encounter
Visit the Squirrel Monkeys and experience these magnificent primates as they dash around their exhibit. You will get to feed the Squirrel Monkeys and have your photo taken as a souvenir of the experience.
Lion Encounter
Experience the Lions at close quarters, meet the Keeper and help them feed the Lions their lunch. An amazing experience to see these incredible creatures within a whisker of you!
Chameleon
Experience one of the most unique feeding sessions the Zoo has to offer.
Barn Owl / Tawny Frog Mouth
Witness either a Tawny Frog Mouth or a Barn Owl fly from it's holding pen and land on a perch as the Keeper provides insight about the intricacies of bird training.
Bugs Alive

Be part of a rare chance to get up close to one of Australia's endangered marsupials and find out how Zoos SA
is helping to save this species from extinction.
Meet A Native
Your chance to interact with one of Australia's unique
